Center Tango on the Rocks

The Young Patrons of Lincoln Center (YPLC) joined with hundreds of young professionals on Monday, July 14 for an evening of dancing under the stars in New York City’s Damrosch Park to the torrid tango music of Orquesta Típica Imperial, who will be performing as part of Lincoln Center’s annual Midsummer Night Swing series. “Tango on the Rocks” included dance instruction for those looking to learn or polish their tango moves, as well as cocktails and authentic Argentinean cuisine. In between sets of the orchestra, DJ Carlos Quiroga spun South American beats for continuous dancing. Co-chairs for “Tango on the Rocks,” were April Thibeault and Cari Widmyer.
YPLC is a membership group of professional New Yorkers in their 20s through early 40s who are dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and promoting the world’s largest performing arts center. Its members get unique access to a diverse array of opera, chamber and symphonic music, theater, jazz, dance and film. YPLC is a strong community of young performing arts enthusiasts whose devotion to Lincoln Center is vital both now and in the years to come.
