On
Wednesday, May 7, the New York Philharmonic held
its Spring Gala at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. The highlight
of the evening was a semi-staged performance of Lerner and Loewe’s
beloved musical Camelot. Award-winning musical director, Paul
Gemignani led the New York Philharmonic in a production
directed by Lonny Price. The star studded cast included Gabriel
Byrne as King Arthur, Christopher Lloyd as
King Pellinore, Marin Mazzie as Guenevere, Nathan
Gunn as Lancelot, Fran Drescher as Morgan
le Fay, and Stacy Keach as Merlin. The gala concert
was followed by a sumptuous black tie dinner with the artists. M.
Beverly and Robert G. Bartner, Cosby and Timothy
M. George, and Lizabeth A. and Frank
N. Newman were Gala co-chairs.
