A.C.E. (Association
of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless), and the SoHo & TriBeCa
Partnerships hosted its annual fundraiser at Capitale, on
June 10. Over 500 attended the festivities. Sotheby's Eliza
Osborne was at the helm of the live auction that included
a lunch with Countess Luanne DeLesseps from Bravo's, The Real
Housewives of NYC and special brooms donated by The Fuller Brush
Company that were signed by Eli Manning, Bette Midler and
MVP David Wright. The event raised well over $900,000.00.
Guests were entertained by a talented group of young dancers with
a special performance in the tradition of Broadway's STOMP.
Bonnie Evans, Charles Evans, Jr., Richard Robinson, Senator
Roy Goodman, Dan Doctoroff, Ornette Coleman, Laura Parsons, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Hay, Dalia Leeds, Robin Thebault, Sharon Bush, Serena Altschul,
Elizabeth Fekkai, Kelly Bensimon, Sara Herbert - Galloway, Barry
Klarberg, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hay, Leslie Eichner,
James Cavello, Betsy McCaughey, Theresa Olszewski, Chris Rounick,
Amy and Peter Tunney, Curtis and Mary
Sliwa, Brent Nicklas and Tommy Morrison were among the
many attendees from both the arts, fashion and business world.
This years chairs were Marianna Olszewski Rounick and Michael
DuPont and the co-chairs were Kent Swig and E.
John Rosenwald, Jr.
Founder, Henry Buhl gave the keynote speech, and awards
to our honorees, Larry Leeds and Julie Menin.
Accepting the award for the Charles Evans Foundation for
their continued support of the Association of Community Employment
Programs for the Homeless (A.C.E.) was Mrs. Bonnie Evans and
his son Charles Evans, Jr. Rachel Thebault,
owner and chief confectioner of Tribeca Treats received the A.C.E.
Community Service Award.
The Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless (A.C.E.),
is a not-for-profit organization founded by Henry Buhl. Their
mission is to enable New York City's homeless men and women to
re-enter the workforce and to achieve long term, economic self-sufficiency.
