Scuba Diving in the British Virgin Islands is among the Caribbean's best and Peter Island is perfectly located to access the nearly two-dozen established dive sites – all within a 15 to 45 minute boat ride. Peter Island is one of the closest locations to BVI's most famous dive, the Wreck of the Rhone which is considered one of the top 10 diving sites in the world.
Snorkeling: The British Virgin Islands are world-famous among snorkelers for colorful, well-protected coral formations and exotic plant and marine life. Among the best sites are the four caves at Norman Island – the original Treasure Island, where schools of tropical fish swim by. Peter Island's own Deadman's Bay and White Bay, and the Baths of Virgin Gorda offer excellent and convenient snorkeling right from the shoreline.
Sailing and Charters: Silmaril, Peter Island's resident private-crewed yacht, specializes in intimate sailing trips for full or half days, sunsets, or overnight. Guests can sail to nearby Norman Island, take the helm, or sit back and relax.
Learn to Sail or Windsurf: Peter Island's water sports staff offers complimentary sailing and windsurfing lessons with cutting edge equipment.
Spa: Set on its own secluded beach, the stunning 10,000-square-foot Spa at Peter Island has 10 treatment suites with uninterrupted views of the sea and tropical gardens. Two outdoor bohios (seaside treatment suites) are also available. The Spa offers treatments and products harvested from Peter Island and neighboring islands. Signature treatments include the Thermal Sand Bundle Massage, the Frangipani & Coconut Moisturizer and the West Indian Honey & Sesame Seed Glow – all guaranteed to restore luster to your skin and to coax you into a deeper state of relaxation.
Hiking: The island's five-mile loop, great for walking or biking, has stunning views of the surrounding islands and a variety of indigenous, exotic plants.
Tennis: Perfect your game with the assistance of the on staff tennis pro or just enjoy the use of the four courts, two lit for night play.
Heligolfing & Excursions: Helicopter transport can be arranged to neighboring St. Croix where avid golfers can enjoy a round or two and get back in time for a sunset cocktail.
The Baths: Peter Island offers a morning trip to the Baths – one of Virgin Gorda's most beautiful attractions. Guests may also choose to stop in Spanish Town for a bit of shopping.
St. Thomas: The resort offers regularly scheduled excursions by boat to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas' capital city for some of the best duty free shopping in the Caribbean and a taste of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
