Over the years, considerable financial
resources have been invested in the hotel, which has
undergone repeated renovation and modernization projects.

but also award-winning gastronomy, imposing Belle Epoque event rooms, and state-of-the-art
conference facilities. Above all, guests are assured the
warmest hospitality.
La Terrace: Crystal chandeliers, captivating candlelight, subdued piano music and views of the distant
Jungfrau massif, characterize the ambience of La Terrasse.
The restaurant has been awarded 16 points by Gault Millau, for its high degree of culinary art, creativity and quality. Chef Mike Wehrle is known for his innovative
cuisine, combined with a tasty Asian touch, which together with a first class service and excellent wine menu, ensure a memorable
experience.
Jungfrau Brasserie: The Jungfrau Brasserie offers pleasures for the palate and a feast for the eyes. It is
renowned not only for its superb Swiss dishes, but also for its distinctive design and decor.
Ceiling and upper wall paintings dating from the 19th century were rediscovered when the
restaurant underwent complete renovation in 2001. The stucco-style ornamental art
depicts motifs from mythology, relating to music, love and wine. Chef Adrian Furer's menu comprises classic and contemporary specialties from all corners of
the country, including the purest olive oil of Ticino, superb
Swiss wines, fine fish from Swiss lakes and the best selection of cheeses.
La Pastateca: Specializing
exclusively in international pasta and noodle dishes, also under the direction of chef Adrian Furer, La Pastateca is stylish and modern. The menu includes Boletus Mushrooms with Cranberries and Raw Ham, Walnut Ravioli
with Lamb Strips in Balsamic Sauce, as well as a selection of spaghettis and other Italian
classics. Appetizing oriental dishes include Asian Noodles and the temptingly tasty Bami
Goreng Deluxe.
Intermezzo Bar & Victoria Bar: The Intermezzo Bar, with its
international cigar selection and smokers' lounge, and the stylish Victoria Bar, serving
traditional afternoon tea, choice snacks and cocktails, are favorite meeting places before or after meals.
GUEST ROOMS & SUITES: Stylish elegance, attention to detail and a passion for perfection are all to be found in the hotel's
212 guest rooms of the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU. They include Junior Suites, two-level Duplex Suites, and Superior and
Deluxe Suites.
In 2003, 10 new Junior Suites were built in the Bel Air wing of the
hotel, each with direct access to the Spa. Only the highest-quality
materials of natural wood, stone and glass were used for the interior. Fine fabrics and
upholstery in soft muted colours, parquet flooring and a clever lighting concept which
bathes the high-ceilinged rooms in a gentle glow – all contribute to the overall setting of
serenity, clarity and exquisite elegance. Large modern granite bathrooms, relaxing lounget
areas, cozy window seats and private terraces, enhance the feeling of first-class comfort.
The other guest rooms extend over four floors of the hotel and each has its own distinctive
design and decor, ranging from classic to contemporary. The finest fabrics and fittings,
together with tasteful color schemes, enhance the appeal of each and every
accommodation. Elegant interiors, attractive wall coverings, soundproof parquet flooring,
beautiful birchwood, spacious marble bathrooms, and web and fax connectivity – guests are assured every modern comfort and convenience.
Peace and privacy are to be found in all rooms and suites. Views extend to the
imposing Jungfrau massif, over the rooftops of Interlaken to the picturesque Niesen chain
or the nearby Harder mountain.
The Tower Suite, high in the hotel's distinctive dome, is the hotel's crown jewel. It offers the ultimate in elegance, comprising a spacious
salon with a gallery, dining room with bar, small kitchen and two bedrooms, each with an
adjoining bathroom. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and two terraces – the shaded north
terrace and the more private and protected sun terrace facing south – open up panoramic
vistas over the lakes of Thun and Brienz. The views extend from the scenic Susten region
to the Jungfrau massif and snow-covered Stockhorn chain. The Tower Suite reflects the
ambience of a luxury penthouse with classic-contemporary furnishings and elements of art
deco. Warm yellow tones, bold black and cool white are the dominant colours. Selected
types of timber and the finest fabrics lend the whole interior an air of elegance and
harmony. Advanced high-tech features include a built-in TV monitor in the bathroom and
full air conditioning in all rooms. And, of course, Tower Suite guests are assured maximum
privacy and security.

Before each treatment, guests are introduced to the welcoming warm and cold areas, with their

women). A total of 16 treatment rooms are available, each with its own terrace.
No fewer than 35 different types of treatments are on offer including massages, therapies

ESPA exclusive is the Private Spa for two persons, equipped with sauna, steam shower,
pool and lounge.

VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION: The Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is the flagship property of the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU
COLLECTION, which includes the Palace Luzern, Eden Au Lac in Zurich and
Bellevue Palace in Bern.
Interlaken, considered one of Switzerland's legendary destinations, lies nestled between the lovely lakes
of Thun and Brienz, deriving its name from the Latin inter lacus. This village, with a population of 57,000, has long
enjoyed international acclaim as one of Switzerland's most attractive year-round resorts.
Poets and painters have been inspired by its beauty. Composer Felix Mendelssohn-
Bartholdy, one of many famous visitors, wrote to his mother in 1842: "The region between
the lakes of Thun and Brienz is the most wonderful of all in this unbelievably beautiful
country."
Some of Switzerland's most
spectacular and picturesque
landscapes, including majestic mountain peaks, crystal-clear lakes and wonderful waterfalls, are to be found right here, in the heart of the country, in the beautiful Bernese
Oberland. Snow-capped summits resemble a row
of pearls as they sparkle in the Alpine sunlight. From the tongue-twisting Tschingelhorn,
Gspaltenhorn and Wetterhorn to the Schreckhorn, Schwarzhorn and Breithorn, the
panoramic peaks are indeed a spectacular sight. Most impressive of all is the towering trio
of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, which forms a breathtaking backdrop.
For water sports
enthusiasts, the lakes of Thun and Brienz offer a wealth of attractions and activities. There
is also a riding school and one of Switzerland's most
beautiful golf courses (18 holes, par 72), only a few minutes from the hotel.
For guests who prefer to head for the heights, the region offers many peak pleasures.
The Jungfraujoch, at an altitude of 11,332 feet, is the
highest-altitude railway station in Europe. Attractions here include the Ice Palace, the
Sphinx observation hall, a summer skilift and husky-drawn sledge rides. Another scenic
summit is the Schilthorn, with its revolving restaurant Piz Gloria, once used as the spectacular setting for the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Here one
can dine and wine while admiring panoramic views of the Alps, and then make the cablecar
descent.
The Jungfrau Region is pure paradise for skiers, with its extensive network of 45 mountain
railways and skilifts. The superb slopes
cover every degree of difficulty, and for experienced skiers heliskiing is a popular
attraction. Crosscountry skiing trails also extend throughout the region. Sledging
enthusiasts are offered a range of challenging toboggan runs, such as the
fantastic forest run from Sulwald to Isenfluh. An
increasingly popular sporting attraction is the Jungfrau Marathon, run over a course
internationally acclaimed as one of the most spectacular in the world.
Every year between June and September, some 200 amateur
actors (plus horses and cattle) re-enact the story of Switzerland's legendary hero William
Tell, in an open-air theatrical presentation of Schiller's drama. The
nearby Rugenwald Wood is the scenic setting for a season of open-air performances,
including the famous apple-shooting exploit.
Other highlights on the annual cultural calendar include the Interlaken Classics music
festival and the presentation of a top musical on a floating stage on Lake Thun.
