Jane Cafritz is a private practice attorney specializing in real estate development.
Education: She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Suffolk University School of Law and has a Masters in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
Personal: She is married to Calvin Cafritz and has three children.
Background: She is currently developing two, transportation oriented, mixed use neighborhoods in the Washington metropolitan area, one of which will include a child care center and a children's complex that is technology based. Previously, she worked for the Department of Defense and as a staff member to the Judiciary Committee of the US House of Representatives.

Through her husband's family foundation her philanthropy has been both extensive and wide ranging. Mrs. Cafritz is currently the Chair of the Washington National Opera, a Board member of the Washington National Symphony, a Board member of the Blair House, a Board member of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and serves on the National Board of the Smithsonian Institution. She is an associate trustee with the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation. Previously, she was a commissioner with the DC Commission of the Arts and Humanities (Ward 2); a trustee with Meridian International Center, and a Board member of the Tutor House.
